The worry sets in...

Pedicure? Check.
No chip manicure? Check.
Spray tan? Check (and I look like Georgina Hamilton).
Bags packed? Check.
Kindle loaded for the beach? Check.
Passport found? Check.
Stomach in knots over leaving my babies for 4 nights? Check.

As much as I look forward to "getting away" and laying on a beach listening to the ocean, it is very difficult for me to leave my children for more than 1 night.

I know this sounds cheesy and overly sentimental, but when I'm away from them I feel like a huge part of me is "missing". It makes me realize that I would not want to live without them. This coming from someone who didn't even know if she wanted kids and waited until she was 38 to have her first one.

My parents are young and perfectly capable.
And it's going to be a fun trip, right? Right.

I need to relax and enjoy myself.

Ah, I totally get it. For me it's always the anticipation of being away that is harder than when I'm actually gone. You will have so, so much fun! So will they.

Now go have a cerveza and everything will be fine ;)
